Frequently Asked Questions

  • Think of therapy as a safe and supportive space to chat about whatever's on your mind. It's like having a personal guide to help you navigate life's ups and downs. You can learn tools to help you manage your emotions and improve your overall well-being.

  • Definitely! Therapy can help you work through difficult emotions, deal with stress, improve relationships, and even discover new things about yourself while also helping you define, and achieve your goals.

  • Literally anything! Whether it's stress from work, struggles with family, feeling down, career opportunities, life transitions, or just wanting to understand yourself better.

  • It varies for everyone. Some folks feel better after just a few sessions, while others prefer longer-term support. We'll figure out what works best for you together.

  • At the first session you will be able to discuss some of the presenting issues or symptoms that brought you to therapy as we begin to build a trusting, therapeutic relationship. We will also start to set some goals that you want to start working on as well.

  • Absolutely. Your privacy is of the utmost importance. No information will be disclosed without your written consent. What we talk about stays between us unless there is a safety concern, or risk of harm to yourself or others that we need to address together. I will discuss the exceptions required by law to confidentiality further when we first meet, and they are included in the “Consent to Treatment” I will provide you as well.

  • If you're curious about it, it's worth giving it a try! Therapy isn't just for people in crisis—it's for anyone who wants to feel happier and more fulfilled.

  • Finding the right fit is key. You'll want someone who gets you, is easy to talk with, and makes you feel comfortable.

  • In the event of an emergency, it is important to call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room. You can also dial 988 for the National Crisis Lifeline for 24/7 confidential support if you are having a crisis or experiencing mental-health related distress.

  • No, I don’t file insurance for therapy sessions. I operate on a private pay or out-of-network basis. Insurance companies sometimes restrict how many therapy sessions you can have, or even restrict who you choose to work with. If your insurance company will reimburse you for “out -of-network” services, I can provide you with a superbill for you to submit. This way you won’t have to switch therapy providers every time your insurance coverage changes. Visit the “Investment” page for more information.
